Another Spiritual Awakening maybe?

amazing grace - crickey, i had to do it eventually eh! and bearing in mind i dont even know the words, that will explain why its the first couple of verses only. the original idea was just the close background humming on top of a repeatative bass drum thumpin away, and that subsequently inspired the spiritual approach, and thus this posting. you know, stick an extra verse or two in, a couple of choir singers, and of-course the jingle bells, and tell me theres not a good christmas carol hiding in there somewhere...
(( lol on listening back, i realise that my political podcast i was listening to was busy playing away in the background, and i never even noticed. well, thats 1 way to get an audience i suppose. ))
.
i feel free - not much here really, but definatelly a good idea. what i luv about this is the very simple, and very personal approach of the jam. only prob is my voice drops out at this level, and so making a song out of this might resort to being cover material for publishing purposes only i thinks. or maybe a tv ad eh!... (( dodgey note alert lol :))

Give a Little Jam

Give a Little -blahdiblahdiblahblah laah. Yep, another b****y jam that I have to store away in my 'Yeah in your Dreams' folder, and these are just the ones you get to hear. I probably bin about 50 to 80% of the jam material, and then about 25 to 50% of that gets heard online. So as you can imagine, theres a lot of REAL rubbish tucked away, never mind the best of the bunch that gets to see the light of the Internet. Oh Sorry, the jam file? - cant be bothered now, just listen to it. Im bored, bye!

Cheeky Cheeky

whoooaaaaahhh there!!!!!!!
insinuation alert insinuation alert
warning! warning! (aaaw, its not that baaad!!!)
UPDATED: (24th Sep)
Just made a couple more files for the Cheeky Cheeky Jam, as I was temporarilly inspired again! Anyway, these two files contain some heavily compressed sustained Strat Guitar, just to give the idea a note to hang onto. And me for that matter. So here they are and hope you like em...
.
2) cheeky cheeky strat jam 2 (dryer mix) END
..
.
Cheeky Cheeky (the original jam file)
Again, while creating some percussion loops again, i heard this one, and started thinking about the snoop doggy dog song, the one where the beat is beat-boxing, fairly recent i think. Anyway, always liked it, so went into rippir mode and chucked this together, allthough theres really not much here yet.
.
Now If i do develop this it will be based more around its chorus's as apposed to verser as such. It would also suite a rapper singer duo as apposed to a milky bar me kid ;) also think it would suit a very minimal kind of approach, you know, the kind that when you buy the CD and listen to it a few times, you soon realise you have been blatently ripped off.
.
Please also excuse the change half way thru from dry to wet vocal sfx aswell as the ad-splash. wasnt quite sure what way to go and still aint, so i just left the two together. i imagine the vocals being better up front and dry, but listening to this i get the impression the fx vocals are better suited to the percussion. i might play around with this in jam mode for a while longer before commiting i thinks... till next time

Simple, Naughty, Nice, & Funky

Bass Drum keeps on Thumpin
Now, for some time I had always been trying to come up with the foundations of creating another 'beat keeps on hammering a rythm in my brain' kind of vibey type track...
===
And it wasnt untill last weekend, while creating some more Percussion Loops to add to my Huge 'Wav-Central' Libruary, when one particular loop, consisting only of a thumping bass drum, and i do mean thumpin, suddenly caught my attention...
===
And as always happens when making percussion loops, i was immediatelly side-tracked to capturing another idea to a jam file for future ref. (ah, so thats how i work i hear you say) So
loop repeating indefinatelly, i plug rhe mike in and low and behold, the vocal hook i have been after for years comes out of no-where...
===
Listen to bass drum keeps on thumpin the singer
===
Right, not a lot here eh! and allready something maybe? well after chucking this together, i was immediatelly happy with the lyrical slant AND the drum loop. But what drum loop!!!
===
Anyway, with no ideas at all, i just plugged in the Strat and made sure it was dryish and distorted. And bear in mind im not a great player, it is no more a tool to me as is my SL1200! After much jammin i limmit the file to this...
===
===
Now i really like this. Why? well i didnt for one minute think that with such an Organic background, and a cheezy poppy vocal hook, that a Strat would suite the idea, i just wanted to Jam. I am now convinced, that if i maticilously practice some riffs, i might actually sound good tooo, aswell as get a bloody good backing! And it still retains that cheez factor, but sounds just a little bit cooler, hmmmm.Right, finally a studio touch, using the compressor on HEAVY and QUICK to gain and drop the vocals with respect to the background and presto. An idea i developed while doing a remix a while back, but never found a home for it. Be warned tho, this is all a jam, and i have just compressed and not de-essed it at all, so it might be a little un-comfortable on the ears at hi vol...
===
===
Right, I have heard enough. I have capture the jam file for later date ref in case i decide to work on it some more, one of many i can tell you. Just one bass drum, one vocal hook, and a rough guitar riff, and allready the foundations are set. This is good, well, good enough to work on, after all, it still is only a Jam!!! (more to come)
. .. ... Bass Drum keeps on Thumpin ... .. .
. .. ...The End... .. .

All down to You

All down to You Jam
=================
Song gets face-lift, and a jam tooo!!!

Yep! this nice little poppy commercial number i dod sooo looong ago, was recently jammed to, and also happens to be Charlee's favourite song by me. One where she actually tolerates my singing, ah bless...

Now the jam version here is just a variation of the break-down part of the song, and still hasnt been included on the original song file , as this had been deliberatelly restricted to 90seconds for Legal and Copyright reasons. I'm a goody two shoes you see!

But anyway, for now, heres the jam i did, and see if you can spot my Shaggy influences in there (see if you CANT lol) and hope you like it peeps...

I must update the original file to include the updates, bearing in mind, it will be restricted due to Copyright reasons, and hopefully once I get off by B*** i will get this little gem out there...
